Yes, gift certificates can be purchased for the flight only, or customers can purchase a gift certificate for one of the package deals being offered that include flight, limo transportation and / or dinner.

What are the hours of operation?

Flights depart at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm or 9pm seven days a week. Limo transportation and / or dinner can be arranged around the flight time.

What type of aircraft will KCAC use for the Plaza Light Flights?

To tour the Plaza Lights, customers will board a four-seat aircraft (either a Piper or Diamond depending upon availability) that will provide an intimate view of the Plaza Lights…from above!

How many people are allowed on each flight?

Each flight can hold one, two or three passengers. Upon reserving a flight time, KCAC must know the total party weight to ensure weight and distribution standards are upheld to KCAC’s and the FAA’s stringent safety guidelines. While we want everyone to enjoy their evening, passenger safety is of our utmost concern.

How much notice does KCAC need in order to schedule our flight?

KCAC would like at least 24 hours advance notice in order to schedule pilots, limo drivers, and / or confirm dinner reservations. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday evenings fill up quickly and that the Plaza Lights shut off on Sunday, January 17, 2010. So the sooner reservations are made the better.

How long is the flight?

30 minutes

How long is the limo ride?

3 hours (minimum); Additional time is available for an additional fee.

What is included in the dinner?

Dinner at Room 39 includes an appetizer, salad, main entrée and dessert with wine pairings.

Where does the flight / limo depart from?

The flight departs from KCAC’s Flight Academy at Johnson County Executive Airport. The KCAC Flight Academy is located at the SE corner of 151st and Pflumm in Olathe, KS. For packages that include limo transportation, customers can choose to have the limo pick them up at their desired location and take them to the airport, or they can have the limo pick them up after the flight.

What if the weather is bad?

KCAC will do its best to provide as much notice as possible if flights need to be cancelled due to inclement weather. If the pilot determines that conditions are not conducive to flying, KCAC will work with the customer to reschedule the flight for another time.

What is the cost?

Cost for the flight only is $75 - $85 per person plus tax dependent upon the number of passengers. Package deal pricing with limo and / or dinner varies dependent upon the number of people and which package has been chosen. Please call the KCAC Flight Academy for package pricing at (913) 324-1223.
